Quotes

"The Lord doesn’t care at all if we spend our days working in marble halls or stable stalls. He knows where we are, no matter how humble our circumstances. He will use—in His own way and for His holy purposes—those who incline their hearts to Him."
—Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "You Matter to Him", Liahona and Ensign, November 2011

"You may sometimes be tempted to say, ‘Will my influence make any difference? I am just one. Will my service affect the work that dramatically?’ I testify to you that it will. You will never be able to measure your influence for good."
—Thomas S. Monson, "Prophet, Apostles Speak at MTC Mission Presidents' Seminar", Church News and Events, June 29, 2012

Whoooooooooot Whoooooooooooo

I did it:  Blog everyday for a month (X 2)!

Not only did I blog on my personal blog everyday for the month of January, I also blogged everyday on my family history blog!  It was actually kind of fun being able to share family history stories and happenings that I don't usually share because, well they don't pertain to research.

So, a couple of days ago I was wondering what the theme for February on NaBloPo was going to be and here it is from their site:

RELATIVE

Families form in hundreds of different ways -- from the brothers and sisters you are born with to the people who become fictive kin as you go through life, our relationships define us and support us. Use the month to not only explore your connections to the obvious relatives -- your aunts, cousins, or grandparents -- but your ancestors, the people who are no longer part of your family, and the ones that you wish were related to you.

This is also a month to look for connections between two unrelated concepts or objects. It's a month to get subjective, to state opinions, to examine your personal truth.

Seriously!

How can I not blog for the month of February with that topic?!?!

Another month!
Every
single
day!

So, here goes.  This blog and my Roberts Roots & Branches everyday for the month of February!!!!

I know you are either thinking "over achiever" or "idiot" or "crazy" or "!#@$"!!!  Whatever!

It may be challenging since I will be out of town for a couple of days, but I have an IPad and I know there is free WiFi where I am going!  (Too bad I just cannot figure out that how to automatically post.  So, if any of you that are reading this can pleeeeeeease help out by letting me in on that little trick, message me.  Thanks!)

Today I am grateful for:
1.  My lanyard perfectly hiding the mustard stain on my blouse on Saturday.
2.  My home teachers.
3.  Being asked to help someone learn family history.
4.  Elizabeth and her workouts!

Quote

"Another fresh new year is here . . . another year to live! To banish worry, doubt, and fear, to love and laugh and give! This bright new year is given me to live each day with zest . . . to daily grow and try to be my highest and my best! I have the opportunity once more to right some wrongs, to pray for peace, to plant a tree, and sing more joyful songs.”.

Today I'm grateful for:
1. My warm bed.
2. My talent to paint, I love to do it!
3. Friends who call me!

New Year, New Goal

When I hurt I cannot write.
When I am scared I cannot cry.
Two very weird things about me!

It's a new year and one of my resolutions is to
Blog  more

Blog more

BLOG more

Seriously slacking in the blogging this past year, Oh well, get on with it and do better this year!

Since the seven year deathaversary a gate was opened and it feels very good to release all of that emotion that has been boiling inside of me.  For the past seven years it has been leaking out through my tears, paralyzing parts of my life, soothing my dreams and reconstructing who I am.

So, I am going to try the NaBloPoMo challenge.  Blog everyday for the entire month of January.

It may get ugly, but grief is ugly.
It may get sad, but grief is sad.
It might even get dark, but welcome to widowhood.

Luckily, I am more than a widow, so there should be some other middle-aged, genealogy-junkie, grandma-loving posts too!
