I cast out my line into the lake
and then I waited. . .
I watched and played with a water snake
but mostly I waited. . .
The sun beat down upon my hat
and I waited. . .
Upon an old rotted log I sat
as I waited. . .
I watched a dragonfly that was fat,
but mostly, I waited. . .
The flies buzzed, the minutes marched on
as I waited. . .
I wondered where the fish had gone
and, I waited. . .
Suddenly, it was my wish,
--hold tight, hold steady. . .
I had finally caught my fish!
--hold tight, hold steady. . .
I had finally done it,
I decided that,
I loved it,
and then, I decided that,
I'd do more of it!

My Head is Full
All I really know,
is my head is too full,
And it's gonna blow!
There is no more room--
and I feel certain doom,
--a dark cloud of gloom.
And there's gonna be,
facts, figures, and debris,
on the walls and me.
Don't tell me anything,
I'm not remembering,
and I'm done thinking.
This I really know,
my head is too full,
there's gonna be a show,
because it's gonna blow...
is my head is too full,
And it's gonna blow!
There is no more room--
and I feel certain doom,
--a dark cloud of gloom.
And there's gonna be,
facts, figures, and debris,
on the walls and me.
Don't tell me anything,
I'm not remembering,
and I'm done thinking.
This I really know,
my head is too full,
there's gonna be a show,
because it's gonna blow...

Gibberly Gobblet
Gibberly gobblet,
What-ya-ma call it,
I can't remember its name.
That thingy ma-jingy,
Is what I do meany,
And my mind is who to blame.
Sometimes it goes blank,
Without any thanks,
And I can't remember at all,
What I am thinking,
Or what I am meaning,
Sometimes, I can't recall.
So what do I do?
To help me through,
These dreadful things I forget?
Just make up a name
Without and shame,
And then I am not beset!
What-ya-ma call it,
I can't remember its name.
That thingy ma-jingy,
Is what I do meany,
And my mind is who to blame.
Sometimes it goes blank,
Without any thanks,
And I can't remember at all,
What I am thinking,
Or what I am meaning,
Sometimes, I can't recall.
So what do I do?
To help me through,
These dreadful things I forget?
Just make up a name
Without and shame,
And then I am not beset!

Today
I threw the ball
It hit the wall.
I chewed my gum,
and bit my thumb.
I jumped the rope,
And sunk my boat.
Played in the mud,
Landed with a thud.
Tripped on the rug,
And caught a bug.
I hurt my knee,
Got stung by a bee.
I skipped a rock,
and broke the clock.
I laughed and smiled,
Giggled and cried.
That all happened today,
And I can't wait till tomorrow!
It hit the wall.
I chewed my gum,
and bit my thumb.
I jumped the rope,
And sunk my boat.
Played in the mud,
Landed with a thud.
Tripped on the rug,
And caught a bug.
I hurt my knee,
Got stung by a bee.
I skipped a rock,
and broke the clock.
I laughed and smiled,
Giggled and cried.
That all happened today,
And I can't wait till tomorrow!

Family
I got my ears from my mother,
And my chin is like my brother's.
My nose is like my grandma's,
And my big feet are like grandpa's.
My mouth looks like my cousin John's,
And my hair is the color of uncle Ron's.
So, is there really any part of me,
That's not like anyone else in my family?
And my chin is like my brother's.
My nose is like my grandma's,
And my big feet are like grandpa's.
My mouth looks like my cousin John's,
And my hair is the color of uncle Ron's.
So, is there really any part of me,
That's not like anyone else in my family?

Mom found a baby sister,
I know I never wished her.
She barfs, poops, slobbers, and stinks,
And cries so loud me can't thinks.
She's taken over the place,
With her dumb newborn face.
I miss how things used to be,
With mommy, daddy and just me.
At least I've my blankie and thumb,
'Cause baby sisters are just dumb.
I know I never wished her.
She barfs, poops, slobbers, and stinks,
And cries so loud me can't thinks.
She's taken over the place,
With her dumb newborn face.
I miss how things used to be,
With mommy, daddy and just me.
At least I've my blankie and thumb,
'Cause baby sisters are just dumb.

If Only
If only words could extend,
the love I feel for you,
my cherished friend.
If only lyrics of a song,
could tell my feelings,
I'd sing along.
If only I was sure you knew,
my love for you is great,
But, the words come few.
(27 August 1977)
the love I feel for you,
my cherished friend.
If only lyrics of a song,
could tell my feelings,
I'd sing along.
If only I was sure you knew,
my love for you is great,
But, the words come few.

To Me
To me you are,
The sweetness of honey,
The joy of each day,
and each dream of tomorrow.
You are,
The smile of sunshine,
A twinkle of a star,
and the shine of the moon.
You are,
The loveliest thought,
The boldness of the sea,
And the bravest of all.
To me you are,
One of God's creations;
One of His finest creations,
And, together, we are love...
(10 October 1977)
The sweetness of honey,
The joy of each day,
and each dream of tomorrow.
You are,
The smile of sunshine,
A twinkle of a star,
and the shine of the moon.
You are,
The loveliest thought,

Nothing Lasts Forever
Snowflakes fall, and quickly melt.
Birds soar, and fly away.
Season's change, never stopping;
Days come and, days go;
Nothing lasts forever.
Bright days turn, into dark nights.
Clouds of white float away.
Words of anger, pass on by;
Special moments, last only seconds;
Nothing lasts forever.
Dreams change, and break,
Friends move on,
Love is only a moment;
Nothing lasts forever.
(11 November 1979)
Birds soar, and fly away.

Love
My love for you
is more than a beautiful sunset or sunrise.
My love for you
is deeper than any ocean or the sea.
My love for you
is a feeling far above all else.
(26 Jul 1979)
is more than a beautiful sunset or sunrise.
My love for you
is deeper than any ocean or the sea.
My love for you
is a feeling far above all else.

Time
I wrote each word by candle light,
the flame so dim
I could barely see.
The wax creeping down the candle stick,
getting smaller
and smaller.
It burns,
more and more
I write;
Until the candle's gone with all it's light.
the flame so dim
I could barely see.
The wax creeping down the candle stick,
getting smaller
and smaller.
It burns,
more and more
I write;
Until the candle's gone with all it's light.

Daddy
There's a special man in her life,
Who tells her little stories.
She'll listen intently;
Smile, giggle, and in her tiny eyes a twinkle.
When her special man
walks into the room,
her tiny eyes will follow.
She'll stop, and stare,
and one can tell she loves him.
There's a little girl in his life,
who has a special place in his heart.
And when she smiles,
his eyes fill with love and joy.
He melts, he's proud,
And one can tell he loves her.
Together they're like
night and day;
He's big and strong,
She's small and frail.
He's wise,
She's innocent;
He's a man of the world,
And she's an angel from God.
Between them
There a special bond of love
That brings joy and happiness;
And one can tell,
She loves him,
and he loves her,
That's the way it should be
daddy and daughter.

Season's
Spring came--
the world blossomed.
Summer came--
the world was green.
Fall came--
the world was red.
Winter came--
the world was white.
You came--
my world was bright.
