Movie Quote Monday

“This day will be the most memorable ever in the history of our country.  It will be commemorated from one end of the continent to the other, as the day of deliverance, from this time forth for ever more.”
---John, The Declaration of Independence, 1938, Directed by Crane Wilbur.

New Baby

My oldest and youngest grandchildren;
until Friday, when we welcomed our newest family member!
Great job Mom and Dad, she is beautiful!
Matt-Matt, Mr. K, and Curly all love her!

Here's a picture of Joe and I with Matt-Matt they day he was born!
It just breaks my heart that Joe is not here enjoying Miss Millie with us.
Sure he was with her in heaven,
sure he was able to watch us,
but
it
just
ISN'T
the
same.
It will never be okay that Joe is gone.
It will never quit hurting!

Movie Quote Monday

“On July 4, 1776, this company of brave and simple men gathered in their little Hall of Congress to ratify a declaration that will live forever in the minds and hearts of men.”

---Narrator, The Declaration of Independence, 1938, Directed by Crane Wilbur.

The Rockets' Red Glare,

the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thru the night that our flag was still there.
Oh say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?"*

Yesterday in church we sang this song as our closing hymn.  Just listening to the prelude glistened my eyes with the gratitude I have for this country; those who paved the way; and for my blessing to practice my religion.

Singing the Star Spangled Banner in church is such a spiritually charged patriotic and sacred blessing.

"And this be our motto: 'In God is our trust!'"*

Movie Quote Monday

“Had the revolutionary War been lost
the Declaration of Independence
would have become a death warrant to the men who signed it.
With splendid courage they created a nation that has long been
a promised land to all who crave Liberty and Opportunity.”

--Forward, The Declaration of Independence, 1938, Directed by Crane Wilbur.

My Mission--July 2014

Not every day is a day at the Library!
In addition to working at the Library, we also have devotionals at the Joseph Smith Building and we have Department meetings at the Conference Center.  Here are some pictures I snapped in May when we had our Department Meeting with Elder Quentin L. Cook.
