111 Post

This is my 111th post. So I will write 111 things I like about blogging. Just kidding! No lists of 111 for me.
nope
nope
nope
Well maybe you want to read about the grandchildren, then 111--no problem-o. I could prattle on and on about them; oh wait I guess I do.

It's funny, as a parent you think about how cute, smart and brilliant your own children are but you keep it close to your heart until you have grandchildren. . . then, it's all out there and your mouth just won't close. Maybe it is because grandmas are rested and well fed and have the energy, unlike parents.

Anyway, whoot whoo post 111.

Month 4-August 2010-Mission

This is a little cabin that the Church has on the north side of the library.
It looked so cute this month I snapped a photo of it.

Grandbaby #5

Kaleb Andrew Smith
born 24 August 2010
When I held this new little baby
I felt a little closer to Joe,
because I know he hugged him before he left heaven.

Conversation between Grandma & Matt

Matt: I like those backpacks.
Grandma: Do you have a new one for school?
Matt: No, I have to use the one from last year.
Grandma: Do you want grandma to buy you a new one?
Matt: We better call and ask mom.
Grandma: It will be okay, I'll just buy you one.

After the purchase and getting buckled in the car I decided to use the backpack as a persuasion to guilt the child into doing what I wanted...see how it back fires!

Grandma: Since grandma bought you a backpack, I think that when I call you should talk to me.
Matt: But, I don't want to talk on the phone.
Grandma: Do you want me to take the backpack back?
Matt: No.
Grandma: Then I think you should talk to me when I call.
Matt: But I don't want to talk to you.

Grandma: It's not so hard let's practice. . .ring, ring.
Matt: I don't want to talk to you.
Grandma: Do you want the backpack. Ring, ring...
Matt: I don't want to talk to you.

Grandma: You want the backpack, you talk to me on the phone. Ring, ring...
Matt: This is Matt I am not available leave me a message...

Matt wins and Grandma busts a gut. . .Thursday Matt started school with his new backpack, and today, he wouldn't talk to me on the phone. . .

Sometimes I miss him so bad it hurts
to breathe,
then I must,

and then I do,
and it still hurts. . .

You know I got something in the mail that I love. . .a thank you note! ! ! I sure appreciate when someone writes me a note, it is a little something unexpected. It seems like the frosting on the cake of life when someone reaches out and pats you on the back. Have a happy day.
