Beautiful Women: Part I

I say we just cancel winter!

There are no flowers.

It is dark and dreary.

The wind is harsh.

Winter is lonely and bleak.
And chilling.

It seems like such an unnecessary season, just so we can get to that great anticipated S*P*R*I*N*G!

Just by saying the two words;
S*P*R*I*N*G
and
w-i-n-t-e-r

there is a drastic difference!

However, when thoughts of "no winter" enter my mind I know I would miss bundling up in a heavy quilt in the early dark evening for a good movie!
Eating hot soup and bread, that warms you from the inside out!
I would miss the fresh snow covered pines and the quietness absorbed by the blanket of flakes.
I would miss shoveling the snow,
and even that ever slow slide across snow-packed roads as you creep along with your foot on the brake.
I would miss the “winter” holidays, and that extra time I get to spend with my family!

Maybe cancelling winter isn’t such a prudent thing to do; after all, winter is the season of hibernation and rest in nature.

Winter is, in its own way, beautiful!

I believe the same is true for growing old!
We shouldn’t cancel it, like Hollywood and society try to do. With their plastic surgery, face creams, fad diets and other demeaning and fashionsble ideas.

Age is beautiful!

It is necessary!

Some quotes to think about:

“While Satan may be attacking the sisters at earlier ages, the Lord is lifting sisters to higher and higher levels of spirituality.”(1)

“The adversary would have us be critical or judgmental of one another.  He wants us to concentrate on our differences and compare ourselves to one another.”(2)

“We as women can be particularly hard on ourselves.  When we compare ourselves to one another, we will always feel inadequate or resentful of other.”(2)

“We must stop concentrating on our difference and look for what we have in common; then we can begin to realize our greatest potential and achieve the greatest good in this world.”  (2)

“If there are barriers, it is because we ourselves have created them.  We must stop concentrating on our differences and look for what we have in common; then we can begin to realize our greatest potential and achieve the greatest good in this world.”(3)

After all, winter can be beautiful!
